Nepalgunj Medical College represents a private college, established in 1996 when a group of renowned entrepreneurs, Medical professionals, educationalist, and socially recognized people joined hands to fulfill the social obligation. They started their first batch of MBBS course a year after the college was established, in 1997 and students acquired a degree in 2002.

Nepalgunj Medical College recognition, MCI Approved Or Not?
The NGMC isn’t recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI), Medical Council of Malaysia and other SAARC countries.
The NGMC is affiliated to Kathmandu University. The permanent affiliation to NGMC was granted by the Executive Council of Kathmandu University in April 2004.
NGMC is recognized by Nepal Medical Council, the Government of Nepal and is fully recognized by Sri Lanka Medical Council.
NGMC is listed in the IMED and WHO World Directory of Medical Schools, therefore students who graduate from NGMC are eligible for the qualifying examinations worldwide. Many of them have qualified PLAB of the U.K, ECFMFG of the USA and screening tests of various countries all over the world. They can also appear in the United States Medical Licensing Exam.

MBBS Programme in Nepalgunj Medical College
Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery is the predominant medical UG course in India. The competition for seats in MBBS course is intense. The objective of NGMC’s curriculum of MBBS degree is to produce well-qualified graduates who on the completion of the UG MBBS in Nepalgunj Medical College are competent to hold out the clinical, preventive, promotive and rehabilitative roles of a physician. Session starts in the month of August every year.

Nepalgunj Medical College MBBS Application Form
Candidates can register with the university by remitting the prescribed fee along with the application form for registration duly filled and forwarded to the university through Dean of the Medical college or the principal of the affiliated college within the stipulated date.
The college follows Nepalgunj Medical College Admission criteria and standards for admissions. Every year in the month of July/August, KU conducts a KUMET test that students (Nepalese and Foreign) have to pass in order to be eligible for admissions.
Original certificates and Citizenship certificates are required for admissions.
- Minimum age 17
- Completed 10+2 with 50% marks with Biology, Physics, Chemistry and English as major subjects.
- The aggregate percentage must be 50% or above.

- Completed 10+2 years of education (by PCB) with 50% or above marks in aggregate and 50% marks in each subject.
- Minimum age 17 years.
- NEET-UG qualified
- Valid Indian Passport
- Valid MCI certificate
Foreign students other than Indians, who have passed NEET are also eligible to apply and don’t have to appear in KUMET exam. Students will be admitted on the basis of Merit list, which is published by KU.
Nepalgunj Medical College Hostel Life
NGMC has two hostels, one at Chisapani and another at Kohalpur.
Hostel at Chisapani
- Separate Nepalgunj Medical College hostel for girls and boys.
- Semi-furnished double and triple bedded rooms.
- Each room consists of the following for every student:
- Study table
- Steel cupboard
- Other facilities are a common recreation hall with color T.V, gym, and indoor/outdoor sports.
Hostel at Kohalpur
- Separate hostels for boys and girls with attached bathroom and kitchenette.
- Twin sharing a semi-furnished room with a wooden bed, study table, chair, bookrack and steel cupboard for each.
- Recreation room with color T.V and indoor games.
Nepalgunj Medical College Reviews
NGMC is one of the reputed colleges of Nepal. It was established under the umbrella of Lord Buddha Education Academy in Nepal, the country of Mount Everest. In order to increase the pace of development, the government started to promote medical education and healthcare in remote and underdeveloped areas of Nepal, in 1993. As a part of that program, LBEA and Nepalgunj were granted permission to start a Medical College in a rural set up near Nepalgunj.NGMC was established under the agreement of Nepal in the private sector in 1996. The college has qualified and experienced faculty team, well organized and equipped departments, labs, library ad praiseworthy hostels. The college is running UG, PG and graduate programs in different branches of medical science. The institute has its own infrastructure to run MMBS. For the general development of a student, participants within the extra-curricular activities by the scholars are encouraged. emphasis is given within the participation in health camps organized by NMGC in association with numerous GO’s NGO’s and INGO’s. NGMC students are allowed to go home only during vacations. Football, cricket, volleyball, and basketball grounds are within the college premise. The college conducts different kinds of game competitions and cultural programs in the annual day function. According to university rules, a student cannot appear more than 4 times within 2.5 years for any given subjects of university examination. Use of intoxicants is prohibited in NGMC.
