History of the Crimea State Medical University goes back to the beginning of the 21st century: in 1918 it was medical faculty of Taurida University.
Today it is an up-to-date educational institution upgrading itself to keep abreast of global trends in medical education and research, developing its intellectual potential and providing top specialists for medical services. The University has always been striving for excellence in teaching and research. To enhance the quality of education the consecutive model of medical education has been created at the University: the preparatory department, preparatory courses and medical lyceum; 5 faculties to train doctors and a faculty of post-diploma education. Junior specialists and bachelors are trained in the specialties: Nursing, Prosthetic Dentistry, Pharmacy; doctors, in the specialties: General Medicine, Paediatrics, Clinical Pharmacy and Dentistry. Internship is available in 22 specialties. Post-diploma education includes residency, Master’s program and postgraduate study or PhD program. Refresher courses in 48 specialties are available at the faculty of post-diploma education.
The University is constantly a leader in the rating among the Ukrainian higher medical schools according to the results of the state licensed exams “STEP-M”, “STEP-1”, “STEP-2”, “STEP-3”. The University is particularly proud of the highly qualified academic staffs, which totals 850 persons: 99 Doctors of Science, Professors, and 356 Candidates of Science (Ph.D. holders), Associate Professors. 40 University professors are academicians and corresponding members of domestic and foreign Academies of Sciences; 14 are State Prize laureates, 60 have honorary titles.
The students learn different subjects from fundamental disciplines to special medical subjects during six years.
Foreigners study in small groups with six to ten other international students. Lectures take place daily and are attended by all students of the groups. Training in the university is constantly controlled by testing the students’ knowledge in each class. At the end of each topic a final control is provided by passing tests and examinations in subjects studied during this term. From the beginning of the second year until the last academic year students attend practical classes to gain experience.

WHAT IS ECTS?
ECTS guarantees academic recognition of studies abroad.
ECTS enables further studies abroad. A student may prefer not to go back to the home institution after the study period abroad, but rather to stay at the host institution — possibly to gain a degree — or to move to a third institution. The institutions themselves decide whether or not this is acceptable and what conditions the student must fulfil in order to get a diploma or transfer registration.

The final state examination according to the syllabus are held through two stages in the 6th year:
1.Written State Exam
2. Oral and Practical State Exam
The students who passed the final state exams and completed the six academic years will be awarded with the medical degree.
There is a wide range of specialization available in the public and private sectors, involving research, academic medicine, public health, clinical medicine and other areas. Specialties include Cardiology, Oncology, Pediatrics, Psychological Medicine, Surgery, Pathology, Public Health, General Practice and many others.
Most doctors complete postgraduate training in their chosen specialty Medicine is a respected, rewarding, and truly international career.
Every student studying at CRIMEA STATE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY undergoes one year of clinical rotations in subjects such as Internal medicine, paediatrics, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology and other additive subjects during their final year of education.
The certificate for the same can be obtained from Ukrainian Medical Council and EduPedia Overseas helps its students to obtain the same.
The Internship declares any student completing the curriculum as a complete doctor and the same is accepted all over the world except India.
In India a student has to finish his screening test and undergo a compulsory rotator internship in India before he/she gets his permanent registration in Medical Council of India or license to practice as a physician.

All educational programs are regulated and approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. The degrees and certificates issued to graduated foreign students by EduPedia Overseas Universities are legalized by the Ukrainian Ministry of Health and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We only offer recognized University programs by the World Health Organization.
Students from India are eligible to sit for the National Board of Examination (NBE) and register with the Medical Council of India (MCI); after obtaining an “Eligibility Certificate” from the MCI prior to sitting for the Competency test conducted by the NBE and complying with any other guide-lines of the certification authority.
Students and graduates of EduPedia Overseas Universities are eligible to sit for the licensure & certification examinations of many other countries such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand, UAE, Singapore etc. All students & graduates should educate themselves on the licensure policies in their respective home countries and countries where they propose to practice and prepare accordingly.
